My proposal is the creation of a module for BigBlueButton that allows
users to upload files to a conference:
• Backend using Java that allows the communication with Tomcat.
• Graphical interface within BigBlueButton that allows selection of
files and uploading of them to the server.
• Frontend interface using Flex and Actionscript that is simple and
easy to use but functional.
• Notifications of upload/download completion in the BigBlueButton
Chat area
• Progress bar for upload.
• Ability to upload before start of conference or during the
conference.
Any comments or help is much appreciated,
Thanks,
Gareth Knowles

Hopefully my proposal is kick-ass! :)
I have uploaded a GUI mock-up now, would love some feedback on it, it
is here: http://gskspurs.co.uk/MockGUIwithLables.jpg
I have already managed to get BBB working from source on my VMware
install of Ubuntu 9.10.
I had a small issue with it not displaying the BBB page, getting a
"Welcome to nginx" message instead.
I managed to fix this by copying the contents of the /etc/nginx/sites-
available/bigbluebutton file to the /etc/nginx/sites-available/default
file. I then restarted all the services, including restarting nginx.
Now have BBB fully installed from Source and working! I found the
use of vi to edit files really interesting as I have never used it
before, the fact that its on all Linux installs and can be used
straight from the console makes it really useful!
