I don't know if anyone look for that sort of things, but that
peripheral looks like the ideal addon for a bifferboard :

£2.97 too :>

I bought one to see if it does the job; That should give me two
"disks" (one CF + one SD) and 3 USB ports for webcams and others..

I'll report when it arrives...

Would be very interested in your findings with this, as I'm currently
having to cascade hubs and this would give me all the ports I need +
storage!

So these took over a month to arrive! They are plasticky and not
terribly well made; "you get what you pay for".
But well, they seem to work, and they do work with the Biff. I need to
check the speed but so far it seems to be an OK deal..

The various slots are in fact just ONE usb-storage device. The more
expensive card reader appear as several so you can have a CF /and/ an
SD at the same time -- well this one is definitly just one. On the
other hand it simplifies booting linux, and for the price, I can
recycle the drawer full of ~128MB CF cards :>

I can also confirm that these work... the local Aldi here in the UK
are selling these for around £8. I bought one last week and opened it
up, the soldering is a bit flakey but the device does work.

I fitted my bifferboard to it and with a bit more soldering had it
powered from it nicely and working a treat :-)

Any pics of them and their innards? Are you able to identify what
chips are being used for the USB hub?

Haven't looked in yet -- I will! However I tried the 9000pro webcam
and it's running at full speed, so that's already something!

I'll check the innards next week

BTW, I started using the two devices at the time of my prev posting
(~2 months ?) and they are ***now both dead***.

So stay clear. Might not be ALL of them, but the chinese ones I got were garbage

Oh well,

Michael
