2x USB BB; power LED dead. Again!

Hi,
Biff kindly exchanged my 2x USB BB some months ago because the blue power LED didn't light anymore. And guess what; this LED in the new one also now died... what the heck is going on here?
Anybody else experiencing this?

Could it be an out-of-spec (or broken) PSU that's 'frying' the boards?

Don't think so... that supply also powers another small linux system which is running fine and the BB in question also runs fine except that the blue led is off...

Ohh! When you said the power LED didn't come on, I thought you meant
the board was totally dead. So it's not all bad news then...
