  I had a chance to go through the logs you posted. The packets show &lt;br&gt; that the ATTN packet is sent to the board, it&#39;s received, and a &lt;br&gt; response sent, then the PC sends 16 packets of information (512 bytes &lt;br&gt; in each) to make up one 8k programming chunk. Then the PC issues an &lt;br&gt; md5 request, and the board responds with the md5 of the 8k already

  Tried the SVN version that you link to, but the result is the same &lt;br&gt; unfortunately. &lt;br&gt; Yeah, I get the feeling I&#39;m close as well. Every time I power it down &lt;br&gt; and take the USB stick to another machine, it claims it was uncleanly &lt;br&gt; mounted. A fsck sorts it out in no time, but it also indicates that &lt;br&gt; the FS _is_ getting mounted at some point.

  OK, mediaplayer arrived, tested it with the software solution &lt;br&gt; but it didn&#39;t work! &lt;br&gt; So I cut an USB cable (5VCD line only) to test if removing &lt;br&gt; it would switch the device back to his mediaplayer function, and &lt;br&gt; it did! So, back to an electronic solution! It only uses 50mA from &lt;br&gt; the usb 5VCD line, so BJT transistor should be enough.

  Hi Biff, &lt;br&gt; The machine just doesn&#39;t have eth0 :-) It used to be a firewire &lt;br&gt; interface, and I never got around to renaming the interfaces. The &lt;br&gt; network config is just a regular dhcp client pulling info over a GigE &lt;br&gt; link from another Linux server. I&#39;ve tried setting the address &lt;br&gt; statically and using a crossover cable, but the same happens.

  Regarding flashing, first thing I notice is you&#39;re using eth1. So &lt;br&gt; what&#39;s on eth0? What&#39;s the network config? &lt;br&gt; Can you run tcpdump on another machine and see what&#39;s going on while &lt;br&gt; you try to flash?   Hi Andy, &lt;br&gt; I don&#39;t have the mediaplayer yet (will receive it tomorrow), been doing some &lt;br&gt; tests &lt;br&gt; with an USB external harddrive, trying to speed up things before final &lt;br&gt; tests. &lt;br&gt; My friend specifically requested a NO-HUB solution to be as minimalist as &lt;br&gt; possible, &lt;br&gt; that&#39;s one of the reasons for buying him a 2 USB port bifferboard version ;)
