Do you believe that the Biewer is a Yorkie of a different color?
Would you breed a Biewer to a Yorkie, a Poodle, or any other breed?
Where do you register your Biewers?
Do you show your Biewers?
Do you belong to any Biewer Clubs here or abroad?
What are your feelings as far as what direction the Biewer should go
now that it is the United States?

Hello All;

These are my thoughts on this poll that was sent by one of our
members. I had her answer the poll herself for all to see her answers
and I am posting them here along with my own answers. Heavenly
Biewers answers are posted at the very bottom of this post. Whether
anyone else feels the need to answer these questions will be left
completely up to the individual person. I am a pretty open type of
person and I have done a lot of soul searching about these little dogs
long ago and these opinions of mine were formulated when the Biewers
first came into our country and I have no problem sharing them with
everyone, but on the other hand I also do not believe that everyone
has to share my opinion and I do not penalize people that have their
own opinion, so feel free to express your own thoughts on these
subjects as that is how any group should be set up.

1. I believe that all Biewers originally came from Yorkshire Terrier
stock, but were successfully changed over a period of time by the
Biewer family to become the Biewer Yorkie a la Pom Pon, which is now a
distinctly different breed of dog than a Yorkshire Terrier.
2. No, I would not breed a Biewer to any other breed other than a
Biewer and only after complete genetic testing is done.
3. I do not have but two and they are registered with the BYC, DHS,
and IBC
4. I will register all of my Biewers with the IBC
5. Yes, I will be showing my Biewers, hopefully eventually with the
AKC.
6. Yes, in Germany
7. I believe that they should be taken into the AKC in their rare
breed program in the beginning and then hopefully as a breed all to
itself.

Do you believe that the Biewer is a Yorkie of a different color? No,
it is a breed of it's own.
Would you breed a Biewer to a Yorkie, a Poodle, or any other breed?
No, I do not mix breeds.
Where do you register your Biewers? BBIR & IBC
Do you show your Biewers? No
Do you belong to any Biewer Clubs here or abroad? Yes/both here and
abroad
What are your feelings as far as what direction the Biewer should go
now that it is the United States? Hopeful for AKC acceptance at some
date and that the Biewer community gets on the same page with regards
to the standard.

I am posting this poll in every forum I can find...

I wasn't sure who or why this was being sent out..... There are those
within the USA that seem to be so unapproachable with questions or inquiries
and seem so Snooty that I wondered if the group was being targeted by a
person like that, I appreciate the originator posting his/her own comments
to the questions as that makes them Real To Me anyway and not just someone
trying to be Superior to another in the Biewer Circle.
My thoughts on several things are just what works for me and if something
else works for another person I feel it is their decision to pursue that
avenue and not mine to say Right or Wrong as long as the dogs are taken care
of and not abused.
Thank You,
Kelli

I believe that the Biewer originated from Standard Color Yorkshires and with
selective breeding with a Standard in place to try to stay with have been
successful in creating a new seperate breed being the Biewer Yorksire
Terrier a la Pom Pom

> Would you breed a Biewer to a Yorkie, a Poodle, or any other breed?
I have not bred a Biewer to any other breed and do not feel it is an avenue
for me

> Where do you register your Biewers?
IBC

> Do you show your Biewers?
I have not shown as of yet, I would like to pursue that avenue.

> Do you belong to any Biewer Clubs here or abroad?
I belong to the IBC

> What are your feelings as far as what direction the Biewer should go

I feel that it originated in Germany and should be respected that it is a
German Breed. I do not feel it is the place of a US club to start and
rewrite the standard, creating a US form of the breed. Whether or not AKC
recoginizes or not the Biewer makes no diffence to me - I wonder if they
will try to write another standard for the Biewer. I think it is wonderful
that APRI will do a dual registry for them recoginizing their German
Standard and allow them to be shown in their shows, APRI is very active with
Jr. Showmanship and giving the younger ones a place without all the
political crap and to me that is a very good thing.

These are just my thoughts...:)
