My review of Epperson's paper against vehicular cycling

About a year ago, Bruce Epperson published in The Transportation Law
Journal a paper arguing that my opposition to the bicycle safety
regulation of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (a federal
organization) stimulated the opposition of cyclists to bicycle planning.
There were a few common factors, mainly that in each case the regulation
of bicycles and the regulation of bicycle traffic operations were based
on the assumption that cyclists were incompetent children, and that I
opposed both by arguing that cyclists should be regulated as competent
adults instead of as children.

However, Epperson's paper was both inaccurate and spiteful. The result
of a lengthy negotiation, the TLJ editors agreed to publish my
corrections, along with a historical account to provide the background
for understanding the situation. I have now received bound copies of the
journal, one a full issue, with several bound copies of only my paper.
