I recently purchased the CodeFinder Software out of curiosity and
haven't had any luck getting it to find anything. Do they make a
"CodeFinder User's Manual for Dummies" book?

Any suggestions for a beginner?

Has anyone ever found their own name with any significant information
about themselves?

Thanks,
Greg

Greg,

do you know hebrew? What are you doing? If you can, tell me the process you are taking when you do a search.

I am off to work right now, but when I return I will pound out some help for you based on your process.

Thanks,

No, I don't know hebrew at all.

Typically, after opening the program, I
1. Load a code file (e.g. kjvot.cod)
a. Set skip from -8000 to 8000 (I've varied this)
2. Open Dictionary
a. Open hebrew.cfd
3... Wonder what I'm supposed to do next :-)

I've fooled around with entering my first and last names and even
managed to figure out how to add my date of birth. But I can't figure
out what I'm doing.

Okay pike942,

I am not certain how you are opening "hebrew.cfd" when you have the search
book "kjvot.cod." When you load the "kjvot.cod" this is the book/
translation in which you are wanting to do the search from. You can then
set the parameters. If you have the KJVOT.COD, then go to the search menu,
on the left hand side, and type in your word, press 'enter' and then click
on "search."

If you are wanting to search for hebrew terms in the hebrew translation,
that is a different set of instructions, but not complicated either.

Does this help?

In His Service,

God bless,

I'm still getting the same results.

I guess the problem then becomes, I don't know what to do with the
results that I've been getting.

Say, a given group of words (any given name -- First Middle and Last
-- for instance) is found many hundreds of times; what to do next with
those results in order to have a significantly meaningful "matrix".
Since I don't know Greek or Hebrew, I obviously can't search for more
words in a matrix with the OT or Greek NT. Should I then take one of
these KJV matrices and start searching for other words that happen to
cross the path of the word or group of words that appeared in the
matrix?

Thanks,
Greg

Well, there are many factors which go into a code search. Many
researcher will spend hours on a single matrix alone. You will always
want to use the matrix with the lowest proximity. So, you do not want
to use a matrix that could be found 1 in 10 times, but 1 in 1000x3
power. So, whatever matrix is least likely to have just randomly shown
up, use that one.

As far as knowing Greek or Hebrew, use the dictionary that is provided
or, go to a local bookstore, or even your local library and find one
there. There are many different choices and many tools to use for word
studies to be found in libraries.

But, if you want to do a search for something in your name in the KJV
then you are correct. Choose which matrix you will use and then search
within those parameters to see what you come across.

I hope that this helps,

God bless you in your search,

Joseph <><
