The wildfire has torched at least 20 homes over an estimated
7,500-acre area in the northern region of the state, according to
the Texas Forest Service. No major injuries have been reported.
Spokesman John Nichols said the wildfire in Palo Pinto County is
threatening 125 further homes in the area near Possum Kingdom Lake.
Efforts to control the blaze, the causes of which are still unknown,
are being hampered by high winds.
Firefighters, who worked through the night on Tuesday, hope to make
progress in what are forecast to be better conditions on Wednesday.
