Man arrested after 2 bodies found in burning car
SANFORD, N.C. — Authorities say a man has been charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping in the deaths of a man and woman whose bodies were found in a burning car in Sanford.
Police said 28-year-old Donald McLaughlin was arrested Tuesday.
Investigators say firefighters found the bodies of 30-year-old Christopher Plush and 21-year-old Anna Truelove in a burning sedan parked behind a school early Sunday morning. They were both shot.
Police haven't given a motive for the killings.
Also arrested Tuesday was 25-year-old Damian McSwain. He is charged with accessory after the fact.
It wasn't clear if either suspect had a lawyer.
