A MAN has been arrested over a series of 30 aggravated burglaries at churches across Melbourne during the past three months.
Police detained the 44-year-old in the eastern suburb of Burwood today.
Churches hit by the break-ins over the past three months include those in Essendon, Moonee Ponds, Burwood, North Melbourne, Dandenong, Preston, Coburg, Glen Waverley, Mitcham, Greensborough, Doncaster and Heidelberg.
Moonee Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested the man, of no fixed address, and are set to charge him with multiple counts of aggravated burglary and burglary, police say.
