19 killed in Indonesia road smash between bus and overloaded minibus

AN horrific smash between a bus and an overloaded minibus has killed 19 people in Indonesia's east Java province.
"The majority of the victims, 17 of them, were inside the minibus. One of the victims is a seven-year-old girl," Mojokerto police chief, Prasetijo Utomo said.
"We suspect the bus and the minivan were speeding. And the minivan was over capacity, it should have seated 10 people."
Both drivers were killed in the accident, which occurred in Mojokerto district at 03:30am local time.
Indonesia has a poor road safety record with drivers frequently flouting the law, AFP reported.
