Powerful magnitude 6.2 quake strikes Philippine capital Manila

A POWERFUL earthquake struck the Philippine capital Manila today, the
head of the government seismology institute said, causing office
workers to rush out of their buildings.
There were no immediate reports of damage from the quake, which
seismologists put at magnitude 6.2.
The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometres (six miles) with an
epicentre in the sea west of Manila, said seismology institute head
Renato Solidum.
