Alaska: Earthquake jolts residents awake across central and southcentral

The Alaska Earthquake Information Center located a earthquake early
Saturday morning at about 4 o’clock. The quake had a preliminary
magnitude of 5.4 and was located at a depth of 53 miles. It was
centered 40 miles southwest of Cantwell, 42 miles northeast of
Talkeetna and 71 miles southwest of Healy.
The quake was large enough to jolt people awake across central and
southcentral Alaska. It was felt by residents in Anchorage, Eagle
River, Palmer, Talkeetna, Healy, Denali Park and Cantwell as well as
other locations. No reports of damage have been received.
