MANILA, Philippines—A 5.6 magnitude earthquake hit Mindanao island
Tuesday morning, the US Geological Survey said.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The inland quake struck at 8:05 a.m. about 65 kilometers north northwest
of General Santos City at a depth of 35 kilometers.

On Monday, a magnitude 5 tremor struck 85 kilometers south southeast of
Hinatuan town in Surigao del Sur.
