Three severed heads found in bag in Acapulco

THREE heads have been found in a plastic bag on a busy street leading into Acapulco, Mexican security officials say, in the latest violence to hit the resort town plagued by drug cartels.
Authorities in the southern state of Guerrero said they could not rule out the possibility that the three heads would match three headless bodies found late on Friday in a truck abandoned on a road along the city's coast.
Those victims were determined to be two men and a woman.
Acapulco is one of the tourist destinations most visited by Mexicans, but since 2010 it increasingly has been gripped by violence as warring drug cartels battle for control of criminal activities, mainly trafficking.
The bodies of two men - decapitated and dismembered - were found early on Saturday outside a supermarket.
In Guerrero state, the La Familia drug cartel and a break-away group, the Knights Templar, are especially active.
More than 41,000 people have died in violence linked to Mexico's organised crime gangs since President Felipe Calderon launched a military crackdown on them in December 2006, according to media counts and official figures.
