Reported by: KPSP Local 2 News
The U.S. Geological Survey reports around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, a 4.9
magnitude earthquake hit 14 miles from Seeley, Ca. That's about 85
miles southeast of the Coachella Valley.
The quake was originally reported as having a magnitude of 5.3, but was
later downgraded. The USGS reports it was 3.4 miles deep.
Then, 3 minutes later, a 4.8 magnitude temblor struck the same area.
Since then, there have been a few minor aftershocks, ranging in size
from a 1.7 to 3.6.
All this shaking is going on near the border with Mexico - the same
site a 7.2 quake hit on Easter Sunday.
