Quakes rock South New Zealand*

An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale jolted parts of the
West Coast last night.
GNS Science said the quake, at 7.17pm, was centred 20km north of Karamea
at a depth of 12km.
The tremor was felt in Karamea and Nelson.
A quake measuring 4.5 also shook Fiordland yesterday morning.
