Puerto Rico Hit by strong Earthquake
SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO (LALATE) – An earthquake hit Puerto Rico
moments ago. Today’s earthquake (terremoto) is the third
significant temblor to strike Puerto Rico this year.
Today’s earthquake struck at 7:43 pm local time. Local news has
yet to report any injuries. The quake was centered two miles west
of Aguas Buenas, two miles north of Santa Clara, four miles west
of Bairoa, and twelve miles south-southwest of San Juan.
The quake registered a significant depth of 64 miles below the
earth’s surface.
In May, Puerto Rico was struck by a 5.8 earthquake located closest
to Moca, Aceitunas, and Hato Arriba. On April 17, 2010 another
quake dominated noticias after striking a separate section of the
island.
