ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A strong earthquake has struck in a remote region
off Alaska's Aleutian Islands.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude 5.4 temblor struck in the
Bering Sea at 10:40 p.m. Saturday and was centered about 30 miles
beneath the seabed.
Despite the quake's moderate size, the USGS website classified it as a
quake that wasn't felt.
It was located in an area of a few islands about 1,300 miles southwest
of Anchorage.
