Strong Earthquake Hits New Ireland Region, Papua New Guinea
KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 (Bernama) -- A strong earthquake measuring 6.2
on the Richter scale hit New Ireland Region, Papua New Guinea at 10pm
Saturday.
The Malaysian Meteorology department in a statement said that the
earthquake occurred at East New Ireland region, 882km northwest of Port
Moresby and 3,878km southeast of Kunak, Sabah.
It said the quake coordinates were at 3.3 south and 152.2 East.
The earthquake did not pose any tsunami threat, it added.
