2 Earthquakes hit northwest China's provinces*

Two earthquakes have hit northwest China's Shaanxi and Qinghai
provinces. No casualties have yet been reported.
An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter Scale struck Gaoling County
in Shaanxi at 7:30 A-M Thursday.
The epicenter was at the depth of about 6 kilometers. The tremor was
felt in the provincial capital Xi'an. Earlier, a 5.1-magnitude quake at
a depth of 6 kilometers jolted the Haixi Mongolian-Tibetan Autonomous
Prefecture in Qinghai just before 6 AM.
