Double Earthquakes rattle Greek islands

ATHENS, Greece — Two earthquakes with preliminary magnitudes of 5.1
struck near Greek islands in the Aegean Sea but there were no immediate
reports of damage or injuries, authorities said Friday.
The Athens Geodynamic Institute said the first quake occurred off the
holiday island of Kos in the eastern Aegean at 11:11 a.m. (0811GMT),
followed by the second near the island of Alonissos, in the central
Aegean at 9:53 p.m. (1853GMT).
Earthquakes are common in Greece and neighbouring Turkey.
