Earthquake off Malibu California coast felt by hundreds

Hundreds of people reported feeling a 4.0 earthquake that struck off
the coast of Malibu Monday night, according to the U.S. Geological
Survey.
The USGS's "Did You Feel It?" survey found that the quake was felt
along the coast, with high responses in Santa Monica, parts of Los
Angeles, Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey and Malibu. It was also strongly
felt in the South Bay, notably Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach, and in
the Ventura County cities of Newbury Park and Moorpark.
The quake struck at 10:42 p.m. around the Channel Islands and northwest
of Malibu. The epicenter was about 50 miles south of Oxnard.
No aftershocks were reported, and no damage has been found.
