A RAGING WILD BUSHFIRE emergency warning has been issued for Lake
Clifton in Waroona Shire, south of Perth.
The Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA) issued the
warning with homes under threat from a blaze on the north part of
the lake early on Monday afternoon (WST).
The fire is reportedly burning in a plantation between Forrest
Highway and Southern Estuary Road where the properties are
located.
"There is a threat to lives and homes. You are in danger and need
to act immediately to survive," the FESA warning said.
It advised residents who had not left to leave if the way was
clear and to take their survival kits with them.
"If you have not prepared your home, it is too late to do it now,
your safest option is to leave.
"Do not relocate at the last minute in a vehicle or on foot as
this is deadly," the advisory said.
It said people who were prepared to use their homes as shelters,
should start patrolling their properties to put out spot fires.
