Strong Earthquake hits Papua New Guinea area

A 6.0 magnitude quake has struck the Papua New Guinea region today, the US Geological Survey said, but no tsunami warning was immediately issued.
The USGS said the quake hit at around 7pm local time (8pm AEDT) at a depth of 73km (45 miles), 430km north-northeast of the capital Port Moresby.
There are no immediate reports of injuries or damage
