A 4.7-magnitude earthquake shivered across northern Vancouver Island around 10:30 p.m. PT Wednesday, the second to strike the region in two days.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicentre of the latest earthquake struck off the coast about 145 kilometres west of Ucluelet, but there were no reports of any damage.

A day earlier, a 4.2-magnitude earthquake rattled the same region — also without causing any damage. A 6.0-magnitude quake was also detected off the Oregon coast on Wednesday.

In September, a 6.4-magnitude quake that rumbled across Vancouver Island was felt as far away as B.C.'s Okanagan Valley to the east and Seattle to the south, but caused no injuries or damage.
