A powerful 'Super' typhoon is making its way toward Japan with a
landfall being expected by Wednesday, Japan's weather agency
warned Monday.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said Typhoon Guchol was located
about 450 kilometers south of Naha, the capital city of Japan's
southernmost Okinawa Prefecture, on Monday morning.
The storm, the fourth of this season, is expected to hit the
prefecture Tuesday.
Considering the typhoon's moving speed, the agency forecast
thunderstorms and strong winds in wide parts of the nation,
including southwestern and western prefectures by Wednesday. The
agency also warned that the storm would possibly play havoc in
parts of eastern Japan.
