BRITISH rescuers have described a road pile-up as one of the worst in living memory.
A huge crash involving 34 vehicles on a highway, in southwestern England, has killed at least seven people, injured 51 and the toll is expected to rise.
British news footage showed large balls of fire consuming trucks, and billowing smoke.
While it's not immediately clear what caused the collision on the M5 highway, foggy conditions and wet road surfaces were partly to blame.
Police said the highway won't be reopened for another 24 hours at the earliest.
