ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A minor earthquake struck off the coast of Alaska on Saturday morning, and another pair struck on Saturday afternoon.
The U.S. Geological Survey reports that a 5.3 magnitude quake struck about 39 miles southeast of Adak at about 11:45 a.m. That earthquake had a depth of about 36 miles.
A second earthquake of 5.2 magnitude earthquake was also recorded farther out - about 50 miles from Adak - at about 12:20 p.m. on Saturday.
Later on Saturday, a 3.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded 60 miles south of Atka at about 3:08 p.m.
