A RESCUE official says no survivors were found in the wreckage of
two planes carrying 13 people that vanished on Sunday in a rugged
part of eastern South Africa.
Rescue South Africa's Johnny Smit says wreckage was spotted from a
helicopter today in a mountainous area of steep cliffs near
Tzaneen, where the planes left on Sunday for Johannesburg, 400km
to the southeast.
Searchers lowered from a helicopter determined the two pilots and
11 passengers - among them two children - had died.
The South African Civil Aviation Authority is investigating the
cause of the twin crash.
Durban Airshow spokesman Ray de Vries says a show organiser was
aboard one of the two private planes that were each once military
aircraft. De Vries says the group was returning from an air race.
