Dear Parents,

 

As the days get colder and the snow gets closer, I wanted to outline for you the weather guidelines for our 4/5 students.

 

1. Please dress your child warmly with coat, hats, boots and gloves. Snow pants are optional. Their lockers may not be ale to accommodate them.
2. We will be going out for recess each day unless it is raining or the temperature/wind chill hits 10 degrees.
3. On bad weather days the children will go to the field house for indoor recess. We alternate days between Grades 4 and 5.
4. There is no snowball throwing allowed. During the first good packing snow, we challenge the children to build a snow man, a snow girl, a snow fort, a snow snake or snow angels.  
5. If a child is too sick to go out for recess, he/she is too sick to be in school. We have no adult supervision INSIDE during the outdoor recess time for our 4/5 students. If we receive a Dr’s note, we will have your child to sit in the main office during outdoor recess.
6. Thank you for helping us to keep your child dry, safe and warm during the winter months.
