8TH GRADE PARTY THANK YOU'S

On June 5th, 133 students had a fun and special evening at the annual West Hills 8th grade graduation party. This remarkable event could not have occurred without the many parent volunteers and donations that helped to make the evening such a success. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all those who assisted (and apologize if I inadvertently leave someone off the list).

** I'd especially like to thank the following individuals who went beyond their individual roles and provided additional support by attending the majority of meetings, providing advice/info and taking on projects/work beyond their original commitment: Faye Wolf, Gwyne Coles, Kelli Dade Haines, Shari Wu, Karuna Hiremath and Amy Sternfeld.

**I'd also like to thank a few 7th grade parents who assisted in the process: Stephanie Stephans, Laura Silberman, Kathi Bank and Karen Weiss.

** I was also appreciative of the office staff (Debbie Steaban, Susan Wendell, Nancy Jackson and Heidi Kattula), the 8th grade team (the Honeymans, Mr. Barrett, Ms. Ayers and Mrs. VanGemert), Mrs. Seaton in the Media Center and Mr. Grippo (thanks for the ping pong table) and the entire custodial staff (especially Paul and Dave).

** One last personal word of thanks to my fellow exec board members -- Liz Fellows and Maria Drake who have been there for numerous pep talks, information and last minute help.

I also want to recognize the following individuals that helped at the party, even though they do not have an 8th grader: Laura Silberman, Cathy Bank, and Stephanie Stephans. Thanks for the true West Hills spirit!

I hope I did not leave anyone out, if I did I am sorry. To all of our 'kitchen ladies', it was a fabulous evening for the students, teachers and volunteers, all because of you!
