Hi Austin,

ProductCamp Atlanta 2.0 is less than 3 months away! I'm really excited about this next event for a lot of reasons, but the biggest by far is the increased activity that 2009 has seen in the Atlanta Product Management and Product Marketing communities. As a result, I expect the next ProductCamp to be even bigger than our first.

A record number of people are already coming out to events hosted by organizations like the TAG Product Management Society, Georgia PDMA and the Georgia Centers of Innovation, and with good reason. Have you made it to one of these events yet this year? If you haven't you should before the year winds down completely. Start building some new relationships right now so that you can meet 2010 at full speed, and take your career to the next level!

I'm going to be at 3 major events this month, and I hope I'll catch you at one (or all three) of them. I think you'll find them really valuable!

The TAG Product Management Society is holding our November meeting on this Wednesday morning. Hurry and sign up before registration closes on Tuesday. The topic is "Product Management vs. Product Marketing" and no, it's not an actual deathmatch or anything like that. It's a great session about the differences (and co-dependencies) of these two major Product Disciplines. The format is called "Question in a Bucket." If you haven't been to one of these sessions, you should definitely check it out. The details (and a better description) are here.

Then, this weekend, Startup Weekend comes to Atlanta for the third time. I'm not going to go into a bunch of details in this note, but even if you aren't interested in joining a startup, there are some really good reasons why I think you should consider attending as a Product Manager. I wrote a post about it a few weeks ago. You can find that here, or you can go here to register for the weekend.

Finally, expand your Product Management mind with Georgia PDMA's November Chapter Meeting featuring Cheryl Perkins of Innovationedge. Ms. Perkins is recognized as a global thought leader in innovation and will be presenting a session on "Fostering a Culture of Collaboration to Create Innovation Opportunities." Once again, the details are at the GA PDMA website, and the meeting is open to all. You don't have to be a PDMA member to take advantage of this great learning and networking opportunity. You can find out more and register here.

Now, I want to ask for some feedback. What do you think of these monthly notes that I send out? Would you like to see a more formal newsletter format? Would you like more content? Drop me a line with your thoughts. I really want to hear (or read them)!

If you haven't already signed up on the ProductCamp volunteer list, please do. We're going to need a lot of help in February! You can sign up here.

That's about all I've got for now, but stay tuned. Starting next month, I'll be bugging you to work on your presentation for ProductCamp in February, and I'll have some exciting information about some new ideas for 2010!

Best Regards,
