Subject: Mark your calendar: November 30 - the next BeyondAgile event

*Please Note*:
Due to Thanksgiving Holiday, BeyondAgile meeting will be held on November
30, which is a *5th Wednesday* of the month instead of our traditional 4thWednesday.

*November 30 BeyondAgile event:  *

*"Recognizing Software Debt" by Chris Sterling, VP of Engineering - Agile
Advantage ***

*Wednesday, 30 November 2011*

*6:30 to 8:30 p.m.*

* *

*Read on for program and location information, or visit us at **
BeyondAgile.org* <http://beyondagile.org/>*. ***

*The Blurb***

Software debt slowly creeps into software assets if left unnoticed and can
slow down delivery in ways that seemed faster initially. Fortunately,
modern tools, frameworks, and software development approaches help us
manage software debt effectively at a reasonable cost to implement. This
program will show ways to recognize software debt in five debt areas so
that you can start to manage it.

*Our Speaker***

Chris Sterling has supported the efforts of many teams and whole
organizations in their adoption of Agile methods. He speaks at many
conferences and user groups on topics ranging from test automation to
architecture to management. Chris has taught the “Advanced Topics in Agile
Software Development” class at the University of Washington in the Agile
Developer Certificate extension program. He recently published the book *Managing
Software Debt: Building for Inevitable Change* with Addison-Wesley.

- What's BeyondAgile?

It's the Puget Sound-area group for meeting and learning from others who
are building software using Agile, Lean, and other innovative approaches.

- When Do We Meet?

We generally meet on the *4th* Wednesday of the month, unless we have a
chance to grab a fantastic presenter on another date.

- Where Do BeyondAgile Events Happen?

In a valiant attempt to be as reachable for as many in the Puget Sound tech
community as possible, we're trying out meeting north of Seattle in
Bothell, thanks to the hospitality of Vertafore.

Let us know how that works for you.

- What is BeyondAgile like?

Come to our events, join one of our rotating program teams, or just watch
what we do on our online sites--you decide what works for you!
