[Better Firefox Extensions] Folders 3 Gmail stopped working last night

Just got up and noticed FOlders4Gmail isn't working again.

However I think GMail now supports nested folders by default so we
might not need this extension any more. That's what someone mentioned
to me anyway but I haven't looked into it.

Anyone else having the issue?

Same problem here.

I am testing gmail's nested labels in the meantime, but I don't think it looks quite as purty as Arendt's folders4gmail.

I prefer Gina's Folders 4 Gmail the Gmail version starts with all labels expanded which is annoying.

I tried Nested Labels last week and went right back to BetterGmail. I
don't think it was sufficiently tested with hierarchical folders which
were migrated in to Gmail from Outlook/Exchange. I have folders
nested 3 and 4 deep, and Nested Labels is starting with only a few of
the top level folders collapsed which have only one sub-folder. The
rest are opening expanded but there is no way to collapse them! There
is a "+" on the few collapsed folders, but no "-" on the expanded
ones. Its not just annoying and unattractive - its *useless*. I've
been to their discussion group and there are many posts with no
replies from Gmail. How can they not monitor the group for a newly
released feature which is obviously not working correctly?

My vote is to keep BetterGmail's Folders4Gmail around as long as it
takes for Gmail to get their Nested Labels lab working. Hoping for a
quick fix to whatever screwed up the scripts this time. The only good
news is the work-around for this is the same as when the last Gmail
change hosed Folders4Gmail - click on the link at the bottom of the
page called "older version".

Yes, Folders4Gmail broke today. I strongly suggest that you use Gmail
lab's Nested Labels feature instead.

There are some small differences to Folders4Gmail. See here for some
tips for switching:

Sounds like you need to create some missing parent labels. The Nested
Labels feature needs them. Without the parent label the Nested Labels
feature does some name shortening and indenting but doesn't give you
an expander.

I know the main difference is that you have to actually create a label
for the parent folders.

So if you have a Label called Personal/Mom. You have to create a
label called Personal as well as the one called Personal/Mom. That
seemed to be messing up quite a few people as well as the Outlook
thing,

Yeah I figured that out after a while but even with the parent labels it's still defaulting to expanded which is annoying.

Please fix Better Gmail!! Googles version is bad if you have many
labels. I'm sure over 700. Some are nested 3 and 4 deep. Better
Gmail 2 could load my gmail page in less than 2 seconds. The google
labs version takes over 30 seconds to load with a script error half
way through! I think this is totally unacceptable and should have
been thoroughly tested before introduced.

Gina please fix your version! It rocks!
