I have been receiving the following error.

Warning: Unresponsive script

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding.
You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script
will complete.
Script: chrome://bettergmail2/content/script-compiler.js:159

FWIW, I have over 400 labels, which are organized into approximately
15 "folders".

I've noticed the same problem, but only on one of two computers I use
for GMail.

I've got a lot of labels and folders as well, though nowhere near 400.

If I allow the script to keep going, everything seems to work just
fine. I suspect that Firefox is just not giving the script enough
time to finish what it wants to do, but I don't know how (or whether)
you can change that.

I do let the script keep going and ultimately the page loads.

Hi, i did have this problem before. I nail it to the chat (but i can be other gmail plugins). Without the extension works pefect (like now in chrome and a firefox clean), the problem is in the lag of the ext.
FWIW, the last time i have this problem i dont have that many labels, only a lot of extensions.

dman--if you enable Better Gmail 2 but uncheck Folders4Gmail and
refresh, does it happen?

I suspect Folders4Gmail is taking a long time to finish its DOM
manipulation b/c you have so many labels.

Gina:

That solves the problem, BUT....

The real problem (which you did not cause, is that Gmail decided to mandate that the folder list is above the chat list.  This is the only way I am able to view all my folders and the chat list without having to scroll way down.  So, I'm going to have to live with a few extra clicks.

Unless I have missed something and there is a way to force the Chat list to appear above the folder list.

Thanks.

One thing you could do is try enabling the "Right side chat" Gmail
Labs feature, which will put chat at the top of the page but on the
right side of your screen. Not exactly what you were looking for, but
better than the long scroll?

Thank you.  That does seem to solve that problem.  I now have to decide whether losing some width on the email view is worth it.

Do you know how I can suggest to Google to let users decide whether Chat or Folders is on top?

Try that "Suggest a feature" link at the bottom of the Labs list, it's
worth a shot.
