  What: blink outage &lt;br&gt; When: 2:05 - 2:20 p.m. today &lt;br&gt; Affects: access to blink.bethel.edu &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;At approx. 2:05 today Web Services was alerted that blink.bethel.edu &lt;br&gt; stopped responding. Browsers would exhibit a &amp;quot;waiting for page load&amp;quot; &lt;br&gt; behavior and eventually time out. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;A restart of the blink services appears to have restored the system.

  wiebe and footprints became unavailable last night as they crashed during &lt;br&gt; the normal backup process. A utility to quiesce the filesystem during &lt;br&gt; backup seems to have caused this problem. At this time we are disabling &lt;br&gt; that utility and will monitor ongoing results from that action. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;wiebe and footprints servers are now back online.

A Blink &lt;br&gt; configuration setting needs to be adjusted and a restart is required &lt;br&gt; for the change to take effect. The actual outage should be very &lt;br&gt; short, typically restarts last between 5 and 10 minutes.
