It's a great idea. Something like this would be perfect for remote
pairing. We currently do that using screen and vim, but that in itself
requires the right software installed etc. I can imagine using this
instead as it matures. Is that the main drive behind producing this?

Two things I found straight away:
1. editing html - enter a single quote and the colour markup get's
confused (I assume it's not meant to do that...)
2. The fact that the cursor can go anywhere means you have to be more
accurate with your mouse / keyboard actions.

It's not supposed to do that. The syntax highlighting is a little temporary.
The plan is to have bespin understand vim syntax files, so we'll be
re-working the current code.

Better make it more textmate-like (mac os x code editing software).
Better usability and more support like tons of bundles.

Hi, Been waiting for this kind of project ever since "Writely" (today
- Google Docs) came online about 4 years ago. A great idea.

Using Bespin on FF3 on a MacBook Pro, and for now everything works
really smooth.
I noticed one bug - I wasn't able to select the last line of text in a
file (function foo(){} in sample.js
for example) directly with the mouse.

I had some thought about collaboration -

Think big - What if each project automatically becomes a GIT
repository, and every collaborator that joins it becomes a GIT branch
of this project? this, on top of all the cool future collaboration
features will make this the first IDE that has distributed versioning
+ collaboration + online editing. I will definitely use it.

Besides that, the UI has a great distance to go, is there a place to
see future UI ideas?
One thing I noticed right away is the lack of auto indentation, an
important starting point for any IDE.
I also noticed that in the homepage the "dashboard" link for
registered users is not visible enough. I personally tried to register
again, twice, until i noticed that there is a link at the top.
File preview in the files pane is also something I was expecting.

Oh, and I hate brown... I think it's ugly in Ubuntu (which I use
regularly) and it's not so appealing here too.

Great initiative all in all, I can't wait to see what this thing will
become eventually.
