Severe Thunderstorm Watch 
  Severe Thunderstorm Watch # 280 has been issued for all of Vermont until 9:00 pm. At 1:30 pm a line of storms was west of Plattsburg, NY and another line was from Watertown to Rochester, NY. Severe Flooding 
  There is severe flooding occuring, along the Stevens Branch, the Dog River, and along the Winooski River. The Winooski in Montpelier is expected crest between 18 and 20 feet overnight-this is higher than it reached in May. Many trailer parks are flooded. Sunday 8:00 am update 
  At 8:00 am the center of Hurricane Irene was about 40 miles South of New York City. Rain is falling over all of Vermont with many areas reporting moderate rainfall. The Flash Flood Watch and High Wind Warning are in effect until Monday morning (copied below). Flash floods will be an issue today and tonight (including blocked culverts and road washouts) with river flooding expected overnight into Monday.... more »
