As you might recall, the
Weather Channel aired daily updates from the VORTEX 2 tornado research month
long (crossing through 13 states) in the field data collecting effort this year.
One of our local
(Bergen County) SKYWARN Spotters, and amateur radio operator, was on
the road with the project for the entire time it was in the field, as part
Weather Channel's technical support team, directly working as part of the
NBC Universal supplied video support satellite uplinking crew (Kevin even
had an on-camera appearance or 2, so hopefully he's also made it into the
documentary).
If you missed the live
broadcasts, which included some very exciting from the scientific side, video of
a developing and occurring tornadic event, you can see the first airing of the
Documentary on the VORTEX 2 project this Sunday evening on the Weather
Channel.
The Broadcast is set
to start at 9PM EDT on this Sunday evening September 6 2009. (no information on
any later re-airings at this time)
