Through hull lube
Guidance requested on the proper way to lube through hulls.   Is there an acceptable "spray lube" or "brush on lube" which can be used to accomplish this when the boat is on the hard?   I recall that some through hulls can be disassembled when the boat is on the hard.   Not clear on what can/should be done when the boat is in the water.... more »

acrylic lens replacement for lewmar port lights
All of *Sophia's* port-lights are pretty badly badly crazed. Defender stocks replacement lenses for about $33ea. Just looking at it, it seems pretty straight forward, just four attachment screws. Anybody done this? Can it be that simple? George Harris Sophia B411 #211 -- George Harris S/V Sophia... more »

Leaky port seals
We have a Beneteau Oceanis 321 (1999 vintage) and the seals on the ports are beginning to be a problem due to leaks. I usually coat the seals with silicone grease every year, but this is no longer adequate. I have purchased new seals from Lewmar, and am curious about the experience of others re the installation process. Any advice? We are planning to... more »

Spinnaker Halyard exit
Has anyone on the list installed a Spinnaker Halyard on a 461? What I'd ideally like to do is install a top down asymmetric furler, but the stem isn't set up for it and I think the spinnaker exit might be too close to the head swivel of the furler. thanks, Kevin O'Sullivan Seventh Child Block Island... more »
