Ordering parts for a 35 year old Beneteau in the US

Hi all,

I have owned a 1990 First 32s5 for 25 years.

In a recent survey the surveyor indicates mild pitting on the aluminum steering quadrant; insurance company demand it be inspected; then the boat yard suggests relacing it.  

Many, many, many years ago we used to talk to Ward Richardson at Beneteau US for parts.  Is Ward still in this capacity?  Or is someone taking his place?

The official Beneteau website shows to contact dealer.  Is this the route you go through these days?

A few years back (2-3?) Bene closed their online parts ordering to customers. They changed it where you have to order through a dealer instead. What some of us are doing is finding a dealer to work with and they can issue you login to the parts ordering system (like the old one) except the orders are actually passing through the dealer even though it looks kinof like you are ordering direct. The dealer then contacts you for payment.

Are dealers limited to territories? I’ve had mixed results with the nearest one to me, and wonder if I can dealer shop.

As far as I can tell there is no geograpic boundarys, at least in the U.S. I'm in Texas but my orders go through Maryland. The orders ship direct to me from Beneteau anyway, just a paperwork thing.

I tried to go through a (the only one) Texas dealer and could never get a return phone call. Clarks Landing responded right away.
