Thanks. Actually think there is already too many layers of ablative paint on there anyway - oor the residue without the effictie components. In some places it is as thick as the thickness of a penny and is losing adhesion with the bottom (most noticable on the horizontal parts of the boat), thus even when prepping with the appropriate interlux solvent wash beforehand, the solvent in the new paint will lift the old paint and the bottom looks like the surface of the moon.
This is NE United States, the boat is in the water May through November only.
