So this is kinda crazy. We're leaving for a year tour on 9/2, but decided
to book a show in another city in the complete opposite direction of our
route about three days before we head out. What the heck possessed BB,
apart from the normal things (vegan cake, soy white russians, boxed wine) to
do a thing like that? Really, it's pretty danged simple:
We *love* Ponchos From Peru.
Kinda feels like we knew them when they were taking their first steps, and
saw them go through the whole puberty thing, then now, my gawd, they've done
and got PhDs and are taking care of BB who is in a nursing home by
comparison. Have you heard their songs? Well, take a listen here:
http://www.myspace.com/ponchosfromperu
Great music ain't enough, though folks. These Ponchos are some o' the
nicest folks round any parts, anywhere. They travel up to Durham to shows,
make websites for your band, and bring their awesome friends to the show
when you play. AND they are part of our Subdivision musician's collective.
They're kinda like the Wilmington anchor.
Come celebrate with us in Wilmington. APL is playing and releasing too:
http://www.myspace.com/aplmuzak. They sound like floating stars in the
Mediterranean sea.
and finally
*8/30 @ 8:30 PM, Port City Pub, Wilmington*.
big o's and big x's
