Hello everyone. I just joined recently and noticed there haven't been
any posts in a while. I was wondering if any one still checks these

I do but there hasnt been any real response in here for a bit. while I
am still trying to get this off the ground we havent achieved the
threshold of interest yet.
Last time i spoke to reelectronics they were still interested in
hosting the space at their site but that has been a couple of months.
I dont get to bellingham often and that makes my trips to their store
even less common.

Mert (whom I had known for some years through work) and I discovered a common interest in hackerspaces at a BLUG function. I was active at Relectronics at the time and saw a possibility of useful synergy. Unfortunately, after some initial meetings, Mert left town, and I got sick, leaving Robert holding the bag.
I'm in better shape now, but desperately squeezed for time, and expect soon to be seriously grounded again after an upcoming hernia operation. And with all this inactivity I am totally out of the loop at Relectronics. (I hear they will be moving again soon). I would love to see this get off the ground in Bellingham, but I absolutely can't commit any effort to it at this time.

Should we have a round-up meeting? Get all current and interested
bellinghamhackspace members together for a chat, even if it's 3 or 4
people?
I think a marketing effort of sorts could be made to attract more
interest and increase membership. I only found out about the
bellingham hackspace because someone mentioned the term to me and I
googled it, found the map, and zoomed in on bham. I think with a bit
of guerrilla marketing tactic, particularly around the college
campuses, more people would find out about it and it could really take
off... but I think this kind of discussion is best had in person!
I'm also interested in doing a "reconnesance mission" to check out
Metrix Create Space down in Seattle. If any one is interested, we
could meet up and carpool or just meet up down there?

I'd say this weekend is probably out for most... what about Saturday the 11th? According to their website, relectronics is open 10-2 on Saturdays so what about meeting up there around noonish? I've never been there so I'm interested to see what the place is all about, especially if a hackspace can be setup in their facility.

Awesome! I've never participated in a hackspace group before, but I'm quite confident the pooling of resources like your table and sharing your experience operating it are both critical to a successful hackspace.

Yeah, I think it would be good to get together even at a coffee shop. It would be a good way to talk about what each of us want to get out of / contribute to the group. I don't know about the rest of you but I can talk about stuff better than type it. I'll even buy the first round of coffee or beer. I am attending SVC for Computer Information Systems at the moment, I could spread the word about the group.

Because they had apparently offered a space in their warehouse for, we're meeting up at relectronics, 2422 East Bakerview Rd. If we want to move to another spot after checking it out I'm sure that would be fine.

Hey Charles,
No problem. We are planning on another Saturday noon meeting next week at Relectronics. Since we're both in MV we could meet up downtown and carpool if you'd like. The plan is to clean out the hackspace next week by moving stuff around for Relectronics so we end up with a clean clear area.
Beyond that we decided we need to figure out if we want to name the group anything other than "Bellingham Hackspace" and maybe come up with a logo or graphic so we can start marketing the group around Bellingham and the surrounding areas.
