Update: hackbham.com (and hackerspaces.org) has correct location and
time details. I added a getting started page as well as a bitcoin
donations link. If you log in, then return to the start hacking page,
the right sidebar will provide a custom Bitcoin address to pay dues /

Today we will be focussing on how to effectively use IRC to further the goals of the group.

I registered a chat channel on irc.freenode.net; join #hackbham anytime. Internet Relay Chat is a traditional real-time chat protocol and you can find software to connect or use the web form on freenode.net. We can embed a web chat that autojoins our channel on the website easily. I recommend registering your nickname with NickServ (/msg nickserv help).
