The instructor Chris Soler lives off grid and has been using solar hot water for the last 20 years, the last five with solar vacuum tubes.

Practical Jack McKee! I was wondering what he was up to. He's the
guy to talk to if you want to know about brass foundry work.
On Saturday, I'll make a brief report on my visit to Metrix and their
now working powder printer. Also a visit to TAP Plastics and the
apple grinder update.
Wow! What a treat-to-be Paul: Apple grinder, Metrix and TAP Plastics...
Plus I've made quite a bit of progress on the organization side: Anna Ehnmark, Executive Director of TAG NW (www.tagnw.org), likes the idea of seeing a hackers' space established in Bham, she suggested a wonderful name for a new hackers' org: "HackersNW", (so I took the liberty of grabbing the domain www.HackersNW.org two days ago). With a non-profit Hackers organization up and running soon, we'll be able to tap readily into the vast TECH community resources such as the facilities (conference room, ---) and equipments (CNC, Milling machine, ---) at TDC/ WWU, consulting support and business network of TAG, BLUG, and --- towards establishing a Green, (Sizable and) Sustainable Hackers' Space- Community Co-Op style... Bill, Chair/ BOD, of BLUG (www.blug.org) has also asked Martin, Carl, and me (at its org meeting last Thur) the possibility of a hackers group's participation in its big LinuxFest 2012...
Hope you'll all roll up your sleeves and land your support to www.HackersNW.org, giving it its flesh and blood, when you come in Sat (and/ or Sun)... Your inputs are much appreciated!
