Scheduled this Friday, we will be collaborating on the organizational
document Jen posted: reading through it, making changes and trying to
come up with something we can agree on. Feel free to update it (or
your own copy) prior to Friday as we will start with the latest one.

Location: BIG Idea Lab, 114 E Chestnut, Downtown Bellingham

Calling for all hackers who're interested in incorporating...

Please come to our first pre-organizational meeting 6:30 PM Friday at Woods Coffee (on Prospect) and get your hands dirty on the dish washing org thingies.  :  )

We'll fly through a business plan (draft), an optional signup sheet (for membership, officer, facilitator, instructor, ---) and short member services survey --- at Woods, and then head to BIL later to INVADE with our bizarre suggestions...

Sorry for the last minute invitation...didn't want to SCARE too many of you.

Thanks to Amal who got us all hopeful again, Gary who were so brave to bring the org thingies up, Jen and Charlie who would help to spearhead the org while fellow members are all busily engaged in hacking and exchanging brilliant ideas, Tril who graciously donate his space and efforts to host BHS meet-ups at BIL... And of course, without the continual supports of our founding members Bob, Charles, ---- who started BHS some 4 years (?) ago, and the die-hard followers like Martin, Paul, Anthony, Charles B., Chris, Justin, and me --- BHS would not be at its strongest.

See you folks there!

Mario --could you clarify--there seems a bit of a time-clash there to me. Tril's last post on this thread also quotes a 6:30 time start, as usual, at BIL.

Hi Martin,

It's like an OPEN forum...you can come to Woods' FOCUSED group at 630 PM for a pre-meet (homework help session  :  ) and then join the BIL folks later (7ish?) to present group discussions... or go directly to BIL at 630. Thank you for asking, see you there!

I'll be at BIL at 6:30 to hang out with Tril since he has to be there to open the space.  I don't understand the reasoning behind having a meeting at Woods.

I'm missing out on this one.

Mark, if you want to have a pre-meeting at like 6pm at woods, that might work better.

I'm still out with some nasty respiratory infection, so I won't be at either venue tonight. (You guys don't need it, especially Paul). I don't have a lot to contribute on document formalities anyway, but I do know that being a 501 C 4 hasn't hurt BLUG's ability to get corporate sponsors, and also that C3s get MUCH closer scrutiny than C4s. So it is more work, you need to decide if the (I think remote) possibility of charitable- rather than business-expense deductible gifts is worth it.
