hey frisbee folk,

i hope everyone's recovery from this weekend is going well.  with all the disc, baijiu, partying, making out, disc, manila rum, more disc, free parking, upset victories, undefeated saturdays, and finally, some more disc, it's probably going to take a few weeks of downtime to fully regenerate coherence.  so with that in mind, big brother won't be practicing for the next two weeks.  use your saturday morning free time wisely.  and look forward to an email previewing the summer plan for big brother.

in the meantime, on with the weekly email.

WEEKLY ITEM #1:  The Weekly Schedule

Pick Up, Tue June 24 at Deshengmen, 8-10.

Make it out for one last chance to play disc with Joe before August! He won't be around as he has a jail sentence he has to serve.  If you want all the details of his recent plea agreement and how much Joe is looking forward to the shower prisons, come out to pick up.  Please bring nun-chucks.

Sunday June 29th, Happy Valley Fields, 3.30, Summer League,

Meet at DZM at 2.30.  See below for details.

______________

This full season fee will cover field fees, jerseys and a party at the end of the season.  For questions, email Jeff at orcutt.jeff at gmail.com

Future Tournaments:

―8 30--31 ―― Singapore

―Late October ―― Hong Kong

―11 22--23 ―― Manila

WEEKLY ITEM #3: Betsy's Corner

Time for Betsy's tournament recap, for all those suckers that chose not to come this weekend.

First of all, let's take a moment to congratulate both big brother teams. They combined to go a whopping 8 and 4 over the weekend.  that's a stellar record, and the best winning percentage for any of the ultimate communities that sent two teams to shanghai.  Big Brother made it to the semis, losing to an uber talented and uber amped philippines team.  Bei Bling, shorthanded thanks to several last minute defections, still went 4-0 on saturday, before giving freakshow a very good game on sunday morning but eventually losing.  This game featured little Lincoln skying 6' 9" Steinar from Singapore in the endzone.

Other highlights included Jim making it on the all tournament team, Big Brother again crushing the hopes of a higher seeded Korea team by beating them on saturday, and everyone making it through the tournament without a major injury.  Yeah!!!!

Next, let's get to the good stuff:

Beijing, as usual, rocked the party.  You might have heard that Shanghai had organized a conspiracy game for the tournament.  Of course, you might not have either, because the only game that actually took place, besides all the guys hitting on claire (victory Lincoln), was the monopoly game.  If Betsy had a nickel for every person that came up to tell her how they always loved Beijing's tournament costumes, she'd almost have as many nickels as the ones she got for how many people asked her to go back to their hotel rooms.

Random moments of splendor:

Joe finding himself with nun-chucks on the bus back from the party.

Candice stumbling onto the fields thirty minutes into their first game half naked on Sunday morning and immediately checking into the game.

Tina got really drunk.

The picture of Jim and Char in the back of the bus.  Keep an eye out for it on facebook.

Kevin going back to the hotel with three women from the manila team.

Chris dropping hundreds all over the bar like he was in a hip-hop video.

Toni.  He was completely obliterated before we even made it back from the fields saturday night.  He proceeded to chase Chirona around in his towel, drop a bottle of baijiu on the bus to the party, and yet he still managed to stay at least marginally coherent until we left the party at 1 am.  I never thought I would ever see someone able to wrestle the party award from Joe's clutches, but congratulations to Toni for doing the impossible.

_________

WEEKLY RUMOR THAT MUST BE TRUE:

Rather than try and pick one moment from the weekend, like madame x from beijing was seen leaving the saturday night party with person y from korea, and her whereabouts were completely unknown for several hours, betsy is going to leave it up to you guys to fill in the blanks for everyone who was not able to be at the party in person. respond to this email with your own favorite moments from the weekend.

as always, feel free to make up whatever salacious stories that you care too.  because once it becomes a rumor, it must be true.

WEEKLY ITEM #4:  Social Calender

With Julia, Joe, Chip, and Ken all gone for at least the next couple of weeks, the social life of Beijing will obviously grind to a halt.  On the plus side, Doc will also be gone.

________

which brings us finally to your moment of zen:

Beijing Ultimate ruling necessary:

Does mini-hulk step in and smash Tao's post into censored

Seriously Betsy-

Toni?

How is Tao not Boot n' Rally? The dude spent the night on the
bathroom floor and managed to get picked as the MVP from the Manila
game the next morning. That is the definition of boot n' rally.

Yes, but the real Boot and Rally booted, then shook up the dance floor
with Smagma as they made a Mini-Hulk sandwich. Shake it shake it, shh
you got to shake it, shh shake it shake it, got to shake it, shake it
suga, shake it like a Polaroid picture!

Also, Toni is a legendary soccer player who has slept with many, many
women. Thanks, Betsy. Now if only nicknames stuck on me...

I always thought Shen was Boot n' Rally.

Betsy, are you trying to make him truckstop?

My favorite moment from the tournament was taking the entire team from
Manila back to my hotel room for a game of Drinking Risk(tm). I had
Australia.

Good times....

and, of course, the afore mentioned "Lincoln skying 6' 9" Steinar from
Singapore in the endzone."

Awesome.

Toni with an i,

I'm very busy and have no time to correct such mistakes on a Google
message board.

Dear Frisbee folk,

A Chinese friend of mine is in need of English teachers at Oxford Baby Kindergarten. Job description is below, but my sense is that terms are negotiable because a teacher left abruptly recently, and they're pretty hard up. Of note is that she says that after a teacher proves him/herself reliable for one month, the school can help you obtain a work visa. So this might be a good chance for some of you having visa problems.

Email Ms. Yan Li  at
eval...@gmail.com, or call her at 138-1072-1621. Her spoken English isn't great, but she could read an English email. Tell her you know "Gabriel" aka 吴佳柏 (Wu2 Jia1bo2).

~Gabe

MINI HULK... SMASH POSTS!!!!!

Sorry, content a bit too over the top for me. So now it's gone. Chris,
Tao, and others: Please respect the fact that not everyone who reads
the message board wants to read back and forth argument about spelling
and grammar errors, especially of words not officially accepted into
the English language.

Enjoy Beijing in July!
