that's right folks. it's the biggest frisbee week of the year!  so get out your tuxedos and dust off your bow ties.  you've never seen anything like this.

Practice is on unless otherwise stated.  Be there on time.  Seriously.  Jeju is only a few weeks away!

Sunday Mar 9, Beijing Ultimate Throwdown, 3-5.00, Happy Valley

The gauntlet has been thrown.  Big Brother has been challenged by Hang Time and Air Kazak to a grudge match.  We've reserved the fields at Happy Valley especially to prove once and for all who can fight off their rat pack hangovers the best.  The smart money is not on Jason or Shen.

The details:  We are expecting a lot of people.  If numbers allow, we will break into three or even four teams and do a little round robin action, just the way Betsy likes it.  Let's hope the weather gods favor us with strong winds and clean air.  Everyone going to Jeju should be here to get some game action in.  details to follow on when to meet at dzm for transportation to the fields.

which of the following scenarios will most likely precipitate the demise of beijing ultimate:

a) reid gets drunk at wednesday night pick up, makes an inappropriate pass at BCIS coordinator, every member of beijing ultimate gets deported.

b) barbie smuggles civet cat into beijing at ryan's request, new SARS outbreak occurs. the thought of frisbee returning to the gong ti parking lot too depressing to contemplate.

c) char waits approximately two weeks after becoming treasurer, moves to fiji.  the monopoly money she leaves behind only spends at party world.  everyone but jim swears revenge.  when mob arrives at suva airport carrying pitchforks and feathers, military believes another coup has broken out.  turns out ultimate in fiji prison yard still better than gong ti parking lot. 

d) jason leaves at the end of the summer, everyone else just gives up.

 

WEEKLY ITEM #2: Upcoming Events  

 

What: The Rat Pack

It's that time of year again!  This years frisbee awards ceremony has been dubbed The Rat Pack.  After last year's Pink Party, held at Jenn Brown's, may she rest in peace, Greg and Zoe and Mae have graciously offered their house to be subject to the mayhem of the Frisbee awards.  It's All about class, cocktails, and frisbee.

 

Theme:  Dress in some swanky clothes from the rat pack era, 1950s and 60s.  Get your boas, cocktail dresses, tuxedos, swing clothes, ball gowns, gangster suits, etc.

 

When: This saturday, the 29!!!   The party starts at 8 pm, so according to frisbee time, plan to be there at about 6pm so we can get together on time.

 

Where:  Greg, Zoe, and Mae's House. 22 Dongzhongjie, apartment 210. 

 

Who: EVERYONE FRISBEE.  and i suppose you can bring dates.

 

How: just get there.  

 

Everyone try to bring a bottle of booze.  I'll also try to get KEGS. Donuts will be provided!

 

The 2nd Annual China Nationals Tournament

This year's natties are going to be held in the capital.  It is going to be Beijing's first time ever to host a tournament.  If you are interested in helping organize this year's tournament, please contact Kelly at kndu218 at hotmail dot com.  Kelly and Jason just laid down a deposit for fields.  That means there is no backing out now.  

Jeju

Jeju is the last weekend in April, the 26th and 27th.  To get an idea of what it was like last year, check out this clip:

WEEKLY RUMOR THAT MUST BE TRUE:  Betsy has it on good authority that doc and helen had a romantic candle light dinner on friday night.  doc did the cooking.

for those of you that prefer not to hang out with friends, don't really like socializing, and fear the outdoors, jason will be watching hockey and playing with his gps unit (if you know what i mean).  for directions on how to get to feng tai, there is a really old man with one eye at the northwest corner of yaobalu.  he is some kind of taoist monk or deity. it could be that one time in a past life, he has travelled that far. the magic word is monkey pretzels.
